Do you provide a print release?

At your viewing and ordering appointment, you may choose a Collection that includes a set number of digital images. A print release will come with the images included in your selected Collection.

How long does it take to receive my images?

On average, your viewing and ordering appointment will take place within 1-2 weeks of your session. Once your order is placed, prints, products, and/or digital images are ready within 3 weeks. Holiday seasons may lengthen turn around times.

What kind of portrait sessions do you book?

I am currently booking portrait sessions for high school seniors, families, children, maternity, and newborns.

What print products do you offer?

I offer a wide arrange of custom products and prints only available to professional photographers. The quality is second to none and I stand behind my products. Custom wall art includes canvas, heirloom wood, legacy blocks, & image collages. I also offer beautiful display pieces such as custom albums and memory boxes.

When should I book a portrait session?
The sooner the better! Advance booking is a good idea so that you have a designated spot on my calendar. It is best to inquire about scheduling a newborn or maternity session in the beginning of your second trimester. I do offer last minute booking in some cases, so please do not hesitate to contact me with your inquiry.

How do I pay for a session?
Please refer to My Welcome Guide that I send via email for information on Collection pricing. A sitting fee is collected at booking, this non-refundable retainer is required to reserve a date on my calendar. Collection pricing is separate and is due at the ordering appointment. I currently accept credit card, cash, or check payments. Payment plans are available upon request.

Do you offer mini sessions?
Occasionally I will offer mini sessions during the year. Please keep an eye out on the Melissa Jarvis Photography Facebook page and on Instagram (@mjarvisphotoseniors and @mjarvisphoto) for announcements. The spaces available are limited and book within hours. Keep an eye out!

What time of the day is best for a session?
The best lighting occurs in the early morning or early evening before sunset.

Where do you photograph sessions?
There are many different beautiful locations throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area. I am always open to a new location, so if you have your heart set on somewhere new, know that I am game to try it. I have several private locations as well as public parks to choose from for your outdoor location. In-studio newborn sessions will take place in Wexford, PA.

Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! A gift certificate to Melissa Jarvis Photography makes a wonderful gift! Certificates can be purchased in any amount.

Do you archive images?
As soon as you receive your digital images, BACK THEM UP! I am a firm believer that you cannot have too many copies of digital files for safekeeping. All images are archived for 12 months.
